Children, Families & Yoga are my Greatest Love of All

I BELIEVE THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE…TEACH THEM WELL AND LET THEM LEAD THE WAY…

Do the words from this Whitney Houston song stir emotion in you?

Do you feel the power behind it’s message?

This Blog is about shy this song speaks to my reasons for teaching yoga to children and families.

As I was preparing this Blog to share with you about why children are at the heart of my work, these were the words that came to mind.

I’ve always loved the Whitney Houston song, ‘Greatest Love of All’, these lyrics came from and it’s not just these opening words.

It’s also about the gift of the message…

‘Learning to love yourself

Is the greatest love of all’

As I look around at the challenges children face, teens face, we all face, I wonder if we truly believe and feel the ‘greatest love’ in our lives is for ourselves?

If we want to grow as people and help others along the way, how can we do this without investing in and learning about ourselves, learning to like ourselves and more, learning to love ourselves?

The big question is, do we know how to love ourselves? Were we taught this as children, or were we taught to put others before ourselves?

If we don’t know how to love ourselves or are at the beginning of our journey, do we need help in role modelling it and teaching it to our children?

I believe if we want our children to have a different experiences to us, we need to teach children how to love themselves and accept themselves unconditionally.

The self-love journey for me started and continues through Yoga.

Yoga brings me a beauty of understanding and appreciation for my body, my thoughts, my emotions which are all interwoven….

…all of which rely on each other…

….all of which being variety and excitement to my life as they shift and change each day and in each moment.

Yoga for me is about learning about myself from myself and from the teachings of others.

So, here’s a short and succinct explanation of why I do what I do, why children and families are at the heart of yoga for me.

I believe that yoga is a uniquely adaptable tool for holistic wellbeing, self love and self care which I share with children and adults alike.

Having children and families at the heart of what I do and how I share yoga with the world frees my creativity, inspires me, it fires me up!

❤ I love what I do.

❤ I love the way I feel alive when I work with children and families.

❤ I love sharing tools of self-belief, empowerment, of resilience.

❤I share the gift of yoga to help children honour their individuality.

Love Always
